Patrick–I agree. In a country like the UK (or, indeed, the USA), immigration tends to add a vibrancy that would be sorely missed.

Hi, I was reading an interview you did. It mentioned the Bunac program which sounded great at first but they intern company they sent me to doesnt have anything open until September. Can you please tell me how I, an American, can move over there ASAP. A job or internship would be great where they take care of your housing. Please give me any information you can, I want to come over there so badly. Thanks.

I believe this country needs immigration – we are a country of immigrants. We have been enriched by streams of immigrants since before 1066. I walked down Brick Lane a few weeks ago – I have rarely seen such a bustling, lively area on any of the four continents I have travelled.

So let’s stand up for immigration. Indeed, I think I might need to write a post about it…
